Tellurium, Te (52)
Tellurium is found in copper ore bodies, and is extracted during the copper refining process. Tellurium is commonly used as an additive in machining steels and coppers, in thermo-electric devices (converting electrical energy into heating/cooling energy and vice-versa), and in cadmium telluride alloys (CdTe) for solar panels. Tellurium compounds such as tellurium dioxide (TeO2) are used in the vulcanization of rubber.
Tellurium metal products are generally available as powders, sticks, ingots, and shot (also referred to as granules or pellets) with purities ranging from 99% to 99.999%.
